H is for...Happy Face. Like the one on this grilled cheese sandwich made for me by my beloved. Isn't he a sweet and thoughtful husband? This made my day!!
H is also for...Hospital, where I spent most yesterday with my teenage daughter. My beautiful girl struggles with depression and was really struggling to push away the suicidal thoughts, so I took her into emergency to get some help from the crisis team. Such is the state of our mental health system that we had a five hour wait before she got in to see the crisis worker. "The" crisis worker...the one and only mental health crisis worker on duty at the children's hospital, and thus for all of children and teens in the entire municipality. Argh. There are caring and competent people working in the system...but the system itself is an underfunded nightmare. I will spare you my ranting and raving though!
Hop on over to ABC Wednesday and Have a look at what other bloggers have done with the letter H!

I'm so sorry you had such a long wait for your daughter to be seen. I'll send out good thoughts for her. Fun shot of the happy face sandwich. Carver, ABC Wednesday Team
I'm HOPEFUL for the struggles you're having with the daughter. And i have that song Put On A Happy Face stuck in my head.

Oh, a five hour wait sounds horrible. I'm so sorry but I hope that she eventually got the help she needed. And the sandwich is so sweet!
Depression is so misunderstood, and with teens it is SO ESSENTIAL to get quick and effective care. I wish you and your daughter all the best and hope to hear better news in future posts.
Hi Anne, I'm sorry to hear about your daughter's struggles with depression the other day. I hope that the crisis worker was able to help her.
A Happy face cheese sandwhich from your beloved is awesome!
Hugs to you and your daughter.
Oh dear I hope that your beautiful daughter will soon recover from her depression and show a happy face like the one on your toast.

I'm so sorry to hear your daughter struggles with depression. We have a few family members that are plagued by it as well. My thoughts are with you and hope she can find the help she needs to overcome this. The smiley face grilled cheese might help too. It certainly made me smile. :-)
Thank you all so much, your warm thoughts and hugs are greatly appreciated. It is amazing how uplifting being part of a blogging community can be.
Hi Anne, I'm terribly sorry to hear about your daughter's struggles. It's wonderful, though, that you are able to work together on the issues (with little help from an over-stressed system.)
Sending you both abbacci!
